Footage of the motorcade of the Apollo 11 astronauts being showered with confetti as part of the Mexico City leg of the global Presidential Goodwill Tour that took place from 29 September to 5 November 1969. Officially called the Giantstep Apollo 11 tour, the route took the Apollo 11 astronauts and their entourage to 27 cities in 22 countries over a period of 37 days. NASA astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Mike Collins were the crew of the historic Apollo 11 mission (16-24 July 1969), achieving the first landing by humans on the Moon on 20 July 1969. The Apollo 11 astronauts are seen at the end of this clip. Around 100 million people turned out across the world to see the men who had been to the Moon. The visit to Mexico City, Mexico, took place from 29-30 September 1969.
