UK Lion - A male rugby fanatic joins the female cheerleading squad for the Lions
TAPE: EF01/0482 IN_TIME: 03:26:23 - 07:41:15 DURATION: 1:22 SOURCES: BBC RESTRICTIONS: DATELINE: London, UK - June 20, 2001 SHOTLIST 1. Close up of pom-poms 2. SOUNDBITE: (English) Lucy, Lionesses Cheerleading Team: "Hi, I'm Lucy. I'm from Wales and I'm an Expedia Lioness." 3. SOUNDBITE: (English) Nathalie, Lionesses Cheerleading Team: "Hi, I'm Nathalie. I'm from Edinburgh and I'm an Expedia Lioness." 4. SOUNDBITE: (English) Gareth Reynolds, Lionesses Cheerleading Team: "Hi, my name's Gareth. I'm originally from Glasgow and I'm an Expedia Lioness." 5. Various of Gareth and other cheerleaders dancing. 6. SOUNDBITE: (English) Gareth Reynolds, Lionesses Cheerleading Team: "It was tough. It was a wet Monday morning in November. And it was me and thirty girls in this room. And I thought `God, I wouldn't be anywhere else, to be honest.' Q: And what sort of assets do you bring to this group? A: I'm told I've got a great shake of my booty (backside)." 7. Close up of Gareth adjusting a woman's skirt 8. Mid short of Gareth dancing 9. SOUNDBITE: (English) Nathalie Hollerin, Lionesses Cheerleading Team: "I wouldn't say he's not attractive - he will be to some people. He's fit in great, he's doing really, really well. I know he's getting a lot of stick from his friends for being a cheerleader." 10. SOUNDBITE: (English) Gareth Reynolds, Lionesses Cheerleading Team "Gonna be tough, isn't it? Three weeks, four games we're going to see. And I spend it with beautiful looking women." 11. Mid shot of Gareth packing STORYLINE: It's well known that sports fans can be fanatics - following their teams around the world - but just how far would you go to watch the British Lions rugby team. Gareth Reynolds takes a particular pride in his determination - a pride of lionesses. A semi professional rugby player himself, he's left his beefy team mates to join the somewhat more lissom Lions' cheerleaders, the Expedia Lionesses. During the auditions his enthusiasm shone through and now he's off to Australia on June 26 for the Lions' tour . They say he's a good team player, and his dancing is improving - but he's not quite the classic cheerleading beauty. But, for Gareth, getting to see the international matches while being surrounded by all those beauties will be a dream come true.
