Baby's Theft of Burger Bun Leaves Elder Sister Stunned
A four-year-old girl was not happy to find her burger had apparently arrived without a top bun - until her mom pointed out, much to her surprise, that her baby sister was happily nibbling away on it. Footage recorded by Texas mom Angel Rosprim shows her daughter Chy saying her burger doesn't have a "lid". "Only one at the bottom," Chy says of her unexpectedly open-faced sandwich. Rosprim then pans the camera to show one-year-old Haze happily munching away on the top burger bun. According to Rosprim, Haze is "always up to something". China McDonalds - One killed and 27 injured in explosion at McDonald's store
TAPE: EF01/0866 IN_TIME: 07:28:15 DURATION: 0:31 SOURCES: Shaanxi TV RESTRICTIONS: DATELINE: Xi'an, China, December 16, 2001 SHOTLIST: 1. Wide of McDonald's restaurant exterior 2. Police checking the accident site 3. Various of ambulances 4. Fire fighters in the accident site 5. Various of police in the accident site 6. Zoom out of police at the site STORYLINE: An explosion has killed one person and injured 27 others in a McDonald's restaurant in central China, a day after bombings in southern China killed five people. The explosion on Saturday evening at the McDonald's in Xi'an, a city popular with tourists, was caused by what reports called "a man-made device". An investigation is underway - there are no known suspects or a motive for the apparent attack. The head of McDonald's in Xi'an, Wang Xinwu, said he didn't know if the store was deliberately targeted. He said they received no warnings before the explosion. The identity of the man killed is unclear. Fourteen of those hurt had minor injuries. Wang said the explosion occurred on the ground floor of the two-storey restaurant. The store reopened for business as normal on Sunday morning. Guns are banned in China, but explosives, used in construction, for fireworks, quarrying and other industries, are widely available and are often used by people in killings and revenge attacks. On Friday, a series of 23 explosions killed five people and injured seven others in the cities of Zhanjiang and Jiangmen in southern China's Guangdong province. Police identified the bomber as Lin Guojian, who was killed in one of the blasts. Police said Lin was seeking revenge against his former brother-in-law, Wang Qixin, for divorcing his sister.

--SUPERS--\nSunday\nEl Paso\n\nErika Contreras\nEscaped El Paso shooting\n\n --STORY INFORMATION---\nErika Contreras was at Walmart yesterday with her 7 year old daughter and her 70 year old mother buying groceries and school supplies when she says she heard what sounded like clapping. That's when three generations of the Contreras family found themselves running for their lives after seeing a large crowd of people running towards them. And beyond the rush of people she says saw a gunman holding a gun and wearing protective gear for his ears.\n --SOT--\nContreras: We just saw that out of the blue. You know you just see people like running like they were turning around like this because they knew something was happening over here that we couldn't see. \nAnd at that very moment is when I heard like clapping noises and we started knowing that. I told my mom when we come home it's gunshots. We all panicked. We all started running and all I remember is that I had my shopping cart, I had my mom, I had my daughter, I grabbed them both, and I carried them out and we were trying to just get out through like the frozen section where everything was bad because we saw that everybody was running in that direction and you could just see that those of sky with a gun...\n All I saw was there was somebody with a gun, and he was wearing things on his ears, and we were just trying to get away from him, and everybody was trying to run away from him and everybody was in chaos. You could see there was people on the floor ready that had gotten hit. My sister got to see more because she went from the money center to across the other side because they came in through the McDonald's area. And my my sister says that everything that she got to see was like the most horrific thing. And you know right now we had to go to Wal-Mart to go and buy the rest of their supplies and I I can't. It was so ugly because we're were constantly turning around me and my sister started sweating, we just felt like you know, I just felt really ugly beam again up in Walmart. But we knew that no matter where we have to we have to continue, we have to continue, and I went to church this morning and know we're blessed to have our church that's abundant living faith. They pray for you but it's very. Very little. \nHelp. It was just terrible but we're blessed we're police because we're alive and you pray for those people that died. Because there was so many. God has been with us. God was there. \n -----END-----CNN.SCRIPT-----\n\n --KEYWORD TAGS--\nTEXAS EL PASO SHOOTING WALMART \n\n

UK: LEGAL BATTLE LAUNCHED AGAINST MACDONALDS FOODCHAIN
TAPE_NUMBER: EF00/0859 IN_TIME: 09:21:22 // 12:23:28 LENGTH: 01:32 SOURCES: BBC RESTRICTIONS: FEED: VARIOUS (THE ABOVE TIME-CODE IS TIME-OF-DAY) SCRIPT: English/Nat XFA A legal battle was launched in the U-K on Wednesday against McDonald's fast food chain brought by 20 customers who claim they were burned by drinks purchased at various U-K outlets. Initial proceedings issued at the High Court in Manchester argue that McDonald's knowingly served tea and coffee at dangerously high temperatures. The legal action comes after more than 40 people contacted solicitors to say they, or their children, had been scalded by the drinks. 7 year old Sam Bogle is one of 20 people involved in the action. He was scalded at a McDonald's branch in the central county of Leicestershire when a cup of hot coffee was spilt over him. He was just 16 months old at the time. His mother Nava is still angry about the accident but said that with age Sam has come to accept his injury. SOUNDBITE: (English) "He's come to terms with it as he is now. Obviously when he was younger it was a lot more devastating for him. Children can be cruel - they'd point and, sort of, laugh but I mean he's quite good with it now. He's sort of accepted it." SUPER CAPTION: Nava Bogle Some people would say that hot drinks are supposed to be hot and that due care and attention should be issued by the customer. But solicitor Adrienne de Vos, from a Manchester law firm representing 12 of the victims, says that is missing the point. SOUNDBITE: (English) "We accept that when a customer buys a hot drink in a restaurant they expect it to be reasonably hot. Our argument is that it is so hot that it's dangerous, and that customers when they buy a hot drink in McDonald's don't realise either the temperature of the drink or the level of damage which they are likely to suffer if it is spilt on them." SUPER CAPTION: Adrienne de Vos, Solicitor She added that McDonald's is an environment that caters for young children and by serving such hot drinks they are guilty of negligence and failing to exercise the duty of care to customers. In a statement, McDonald's say their first concern is always for the safety of their customers, and point out that all their hot drinks are served in cups with a fitted lid and the words 'CAUTION: HOT' written on the side. The company says it'll be closely following these proceedings but was unable to discuss individual cases. SHOTLIST: Leicestershire , Manchester UK - 2 August 2000 Leicestershire 1.
