Over two thousand people filled a music hall in Manhattan, some paying as much as 500 dollars for their seats, to see a man seated in a throne with gold sheets flowing off and Tibetan monks lined up behind him. The Dalai Lama was in New York today speaking about Manjushri, the Buddah of wisdom. Members of the audience trembled and shook they were so moved by the speech. On May seventh in Manhattan, the new Tibet house will open. It will give all those who stop by a glimpse of the Tibetan lifestyle, since China occupied Tibet in 1950 and annexed it in 1958.
