A KINDLY THOUGHT
A Kindly Thought - Surrey Union fox hounds meet in grounds of Queen Alexandra's Hospital for children suffering from hip disease.

Location of events unknown.

Actually the dogs are taken there; they don't just go on their own. This shot looks like a weird dream. Children in row of old beds; which are on a porch - a man in riding habit; holding whip; enters with a bunch of foxhounds; who run around the room like mad; to the children's delight. Nurses watch.

Then shot of men and dogs coming out of building. Men riding horses on road; with the dogs running along. At the side of road; some soldiers or airmen together; and a couple of old men separately; walk by.

Sports; animals; medical.

405B

Spain Pamplona - Several injured in perilous first run at bull festival
TAPE: EF02/0577 IN_TIME: 23:36:57 DURATION: 1:00 SOURCES: TVE RESTRICTIONS: DATELINE: Pamplona, 7 July 2002 SHOTLIST: 1. Close up gates open and bulls run out 2. Wide shot crowd and bulls along street 3. Various people run over by bulls 4. Slow motion of man being knocked over 5. Slow motion of another man being knocked over by bull 6. Injured being treated by medics 7. Wide shot of crowd in bullring STORYLINE: About 2,000 people joined in the world's most famous running of the bulls on Sunday, making a perilous dash through the narrow cobblestone streets of Pamplona while being chased by charging bulls. Three people, including a 19-year-old American girl and a 20-year-old Australian, were hospitalized after being gored during the early morning run. The unusually high number on the course slowed the run to some seven and a half minutes, more than twice the normal time, giving the bulls more time to be distracted and increasing the danger. Jose Maria Perez, a 32-year-old Spaniard, was the most seriously hurt, with an injury in his thigh. Australian Luke Versace and an American girl, who was not immediately identified, also had leg injuries. Three others received treatment for cuts and bruises from falling. Six bulls, which weight between 500 and 600 kilograms each, and six accompanying steers meant to keep them running together, broke up shortly after leaving the corral where the 825 meter (900 yard) run starts at 8 a.m. (0600 GMT). The course ends in a bullring where the toros were to face matadors in the afternoon. The fiesta, famed for its all-night street parties, dates back hundreds of years but gained world fame from Ernest Hemingway's 1926 novel "The Sun Also Rises." Tens of thousands from all over the world have been pouring into Pamplona for the annual festival ever since.

Shot on 16mm film in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Spinbuldak, and the Afghan countryside in 1987, this film is a look at the *other* side of the war in Afghanistan - the Communist government and its supporters. It is not only the sole documentary on the Afghan communist side of the war, but it shows how the war looked to the Afghan middle class, to educated Afghan women, to the army officers who led the Soviet-inspired ""revolution"", and to the khans (""feudal landlords"") and villagers of the Afghan countryside. The film includes an interview with two captured Taliban guerillas in the Kandahar prison, as well as a Mujahedeen attack on an Afghan army outpost, and a rare public interview with then-President Najibullah The outtakes are also available for licensing. 00:00:00>>>Dog fights in Kabul.
