As the 19-96 centennial Olympics in Atlanta drew to a close, visitors and athletes alike bid farewell to 17 days of festivities. People from all parts of the world and all different ages came together to celebrate the triumph and trial of the determined athletes. The Olympic spirit persisted despite events such as the bombing in the Olympic Staduim. As the crowds of visitors and athletes return home and the city of Atlanta resumes business, viewers from around the globe will remember these Olympic games fondly.

The advancing ice during the ice age caused many animals and plants to be isolated on the higher ridges surrounded by the ice, and over thousands of years they differentiated from continental US biodiversity. The Olympic marmot is a social animal that lives in family groups in networks of burrows in alpine and sub-alpine regions. It feeds primarily on leaves, shoots and roots.
