Close shot of Oscar sign RED CARPET PREPS With the Oscars just three days away, Tinseltown was gearing up for its biggest party of the year on Thursday. The red carpet was being rolled out in Hollywood and banners were being hung in preparation for the 77th Academy Awards. More than three-thousand people are expected to descend on the Kodak Theatre on Sunday (US time) for the ceremony. Security will be tight. On Thursday, streets surrounding the theatre were blocked off already, metal barricades limited walkways and uniformed police officers were standing guard. The red carpet walkway to the theatre received a bit of a face-lift this year. Following the recent rainstorms, Academy Award planners were not taking any chances and erected a plastic tent over the red carpet to keep Hollywood''s famous faces dry as they show off their much-anticipated Oscar attire.
