The Parties Speak - No. 1. - Mr. Harry Pollitt - Secretary - The Communist Party".

Various shots of Mr Harry Pollitt, Secretary of the Communist Party, speaking on the coming election. He says (natural sound): "We Communists are fighting for a New Britain, where the Nation's resources are used to satisfy the people's needs. No one man or Party won the war in Europe, but the British people and their Allies. The Tories now rush a General Election on a register which deprives almost a million people, including servicemen, of their right to vote. We want a Government to organise speedy victory over Japan, security from war, and an unswerving alliance with the Soviet Union, to build homes for the people, give justice and equal gratuities to demobilised servicemen, to expand production in industry and agriculture, resulting in full employment, good, wages, working conditions and social security. To this end we demand the nationalisation of the land key industries, finance and planned production in peace as in war. Every single promise the Tories make now they made at the end of the last war. Not one was fulfilled. Vote for the Communist candidates where they contest, elsewhere for Labour. Win a Labour and Communist majority. Forward to a new and happier Britain."
