<br/>Miners demonstration at the Grand-Combe against handing over religious schools to state education services. Documentation states when the coal mines belonged to private societies, nearly all of the coal mine towns had christian schools headed by priests, Free Religious schools. After the liberation the law of coal mines nationalisation stipulated all government buildings were to be handed over to the government. The priests have to hand over the schools to public education.......A few communists try to create a riot while trying to pull down the wall oh planks but the fathers and miners stop them.
