An 85-year-old Turtle named "Junior" that was stolen from a fish hatchery in Long Island, New York was returned today. Although no suspects are in custody, officials had received reports that the turtle was stolen as a prank by some high school seniors. Though the report remains unconfirmed, he was returned by a couple of teenagers who were accompanied by an adult. No charges will be filed.

The stolen 1968 Chevrolet Corvette was returned to Alan Poster, its original owner, by representatives of US Customs and Border Protection, the California Highway Patrol and the National Insurance Crime Bureau. The car was seized at the Port of Long Beach before it could be shipped to a new owner in Stockholm, Sweden, who did not know the car had been stolen. Mr Poster said he planned to restore the car and then give it to his daughter. Unfortunately, Mr Poster couldn't speed away in his newly found classic car. The vehicle was unable to be driven because it had no fuel tank nor transmission.

Various of tank STORYLINE: Brazilian army troops backed by tanks invaded a Rio de Janeiro hillside slum known for its carnival samba in a widening search for rifles stolen from an army barracks, police said on Tuesday. A joint task force of police and troops surrounded Rio's Mangueira hill on Monday night and deployed soldiers on the slum's narrow streets, in a surprising show of force to recover ten assault rifles and a nine millimetre pistol. Some 500 soldiers in helmets and camouflage uniforms climbed the hill, home to more than 10-thousand people and famous for the traditional Mangueira carnival group, to monitor access and question residents about the missing weapons. The CBN all-news radio network reported soldiers and suspected drug traffickers in the shantytown exchanged gunfire for five minutes on Monday night, but police did not confirm the shooting. Some 1,500 troops and police officers are searching for the guns stolen from a barracks on Friday by seven masked gunmen wearing camouflage gear. The gunmen overpowered three guards, stole the weapons from a small depot and sped away in at least two cars, according to the army.
