Coolidge Dam is located on the Gila River 31 miles (50 km) southeast of Globe, Arizona and impounds San Carlos Lake on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Built between 1924 and 1928, the dam was named after the 30th US President, Calvin Coolidge.
