NAME: US OLD LADY 20070302I TAPE: EF07/0259 IN_TIME: 10:57:00:16 DURATION: 00:00:17:09 SOURCES: ABC DATELINE: Deerfield Beach, 28 Feb 2007 RESTRICTIONS: No Access NAmerica/internet SHOTLIST: 1. Surveillance camera footage of vehicle driven by elderly woman crashing into DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) office STORYLINE: An eighty year-old woman crashed her car into a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office in Florida on Wednesday, after being summoned to re-take her driving test. Authorities said Therese Smith, of Boca Raton, had turned up to re-take the test but had been unable to complete it that day and was leaving the office at the time of the accident. It's thought she was easing out of her parking space when she stepped on the accelerator too hard, propelling her 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis through the exterior wall of the DMV building. Seven people inside the building were treated for minor injuries. Smith was not hurt. Keyword-wacky -bizarre

Wacky flying machines
A compilation of crazy vintage flying machines, most of which don't fly. The contraptions include something that looks like a washing machine, a flying plate, a barrel with a propeller, a bird suit, a gas powered pumping umbrella, and a very heavy paddle plane on a ramp. A man on a bicycle fitted with wings and a jet pack crashes and sets his pants on fire. An assistant heroically pours a bucket of water on him. Another man, wearing a very heavy set of wings, jumps off of a rock and lands flat on his face. Great comedic vintage footage.

You know, falling through a roof is really an exceptional event that rarely happens and this is a beautiful large specimen, completely intact, virtually." 23. Pan to hole in roof 24. Hand holding stone 25. Various of people searching for more stones STORYLINE A family living in New Zealand had a surprising visit this weekend. A meteorite crashed through the roof of their house in the Auckland suburb of Ellerslie on Saturday. Scientists initially were sceptical, but now agree that the one point three kilogrammes (2.9 pounds) rock came from space. It is only the ninth meteor known to have landed in New Zealand. Its rarity makes it valuable to collectors as well as scientists. Joel Schiff, from Auckland University, said the circumstances of the meteor's discovery also add to its value: "Falling through a roof is really an exceptional event that rarely happens, and this is a beautiful large specimen." Scientists plan to analyse the chemical composition of the meteorite to find out more about where it came from. Keyword: Wacky

China Pandas - Pandas evacuated from quake zone because of landslide fears

Close of woman giving drinking water to panda in cage 11. Close of panda lapping water from bottle 12. Mid of flower wreaths being laid on cages to welcome pandas 13. Various of panda in cage STORYLINE Pandas living in earthquake-devastated southwest China were being evacuated, on Wednesday, to temporary shelters away from the quake zone due to the ongoing threat of landslides and other hazards. Some pandas were flown from Chengdu to Fuzhou in the eastern province of Fujian, while others are being moved to safer new homes in Chengdu and Guangdong Province, in the south of the country. The evacuation kicked off at the start of China's rainy season which begins this month, and routinely causes the region's fast flowing streams to flood their banks. Landslides are a particular danger this year because the quake caused hillsides to shear away and crash into river valleys below. Only seven pandas of the original 63 remain in the Wolong Nature Reserve deep in the mountains of Sichuan province, close to the epicentre of last month's magnitude-7.9 quake, said the director of the Wolong Panda Breeding Centre. It is not clear if they will also be relocated, but officials at Wolong said they want to find a new home for the reserve, but cannot do so until geologists completely assess the damage. The remaining pandas at Wolong also face food shortages because much of the local bamboo was either damaged or destroyed by the quake, so their usual diet is being supplemented by milk and biscuits. Forestry officials said that about 80 percent of Sichuan's panda habitat suffered some degree of damage from the quake. Wolong and 48 other wildlife reserves in the province were heavily damaged by the May 12 quake, which destroyed enclosures and administrative buildings and sent rocks, soil and vegetation crashing down hillsides and into valleys. One panda was killed in Wolong, just 20 miles (32 kilometres) away from the epicentre, and another remains missing. It is not known how many wild pandas died. Only about 1,600 pandas live in the wild, mostly in Sichuan. An additional 180 have been bred in captivity, many of them at Wolong, and scores have been loaned or given to zoos abroad, with the revenues helping fund conservation programmes.
