The two ocean liners upturned at the sea and the wreckage floats in water. Victims of the cruise ships on board another ship after rescue. Collision killed nearly 50 people. A FREIGHTER AND A FISH FACTORY SHIP COLLIDED TODAY OFF THE NORTHWESTERN WASHINGTON COAST. THE FISH FACTORY SHIP SUNK. NO DAMAGE WAS REPORTED TO THE CHINESE SHIP. COAST GUARD STATIONS IN SEATTLE AND PORT ANGELES AND NEAH BAY RESPONDED TO THE ACCIDENT. THREE HELICOPTERS AND A PLANE WERE SENT OUT. THE JAPANESE SHIP CARRIED 85 PEOPLE AND 40 PEOPLE WERE ACCOUNTED FOR IN THE WATER. THE COAST GUARD REPORTED THAT ALL CREW MEMBERS WERE QUICKLY RESCUED. FISHING BOATS IN THE AREA AIDED IN THE RESCUES. ABOUT 25 FISHING BOATS PICKED UP SURVIVORS. TWO INJURED CREW MEMBERS WERE BEING EVACUATED BY HELICOPTER ONE WITH FRACTURES AND THE OTHER WITH SECOND-DEGREE BURNS ON THE UPPER BODY. THE CHINESE FREIGHTER SUFFERED VERY LITTLE INJURIES. IT HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED IF ANY LEAKING FUEL HAS BEEN DUMPED INTO THE WATERS. THE CHINESE FREIGHTER WAS HEADED FOR VANCOUVER. THE ORIGIN AND DESTINATION OF THE JAPANESE SHIP WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY KNOWN.
