Zoo officials say that Stuart the Zebra was chasing impalas here when unfortunately he ran right into a pole."</p>\n<p>Wild: "He was out running around. The impala were out running around with him too, just stick that corner too fast and lost his footing."</p>\n<p>BY THE TIME THE ANIMAL CARE TEAM ARRIVED, LARGE MAMMAL CURATOR, TIM WILD, SAYS THEY COULDN'T SAVE STUART.</p>\n<p>HIS INJURIES WERE TOO SEVERE.</p>\n<p>Mintz: "Do you do anything to like prevent something like this from happening again? Is there anything you can do?"</p>\n<p>Wild: "We will always reassess the exhibit and the situation and everything else that we do. But all of that goes into the design too. This exhibit is only five-years-old."</p>\n<p>ZOO STAFF ARE SITLL WAITING TEST RESULTS TO DETERMINE EXACTLY HOW STUART DIED.</p>\n<p>Mintz: "When something like this happens, I mean, this hurts."</p>\n<p>Wild: "It's very hard, yeah. Really hard."</p>\n<p>SADLY, STUART NOW MAKES THE 6TH LARGE ZOO ANIMAL TO DIE SO FAR THIS YEAR.</p>\n<p>IN FEBRUARY, STELLA THE JAGUAR WAS EUTHANIZED AFTER HEALTH ISSUES.</p>\n<p>MARCH, THE BELOVED SPRING FORECASTER, GORDY GROUNDHOG DIED, FOLLOWED BY TWO GIRAFFES,</p>\n<p>THEN IN APRIL, A 26-YEAR-OLD CAMEL CALLED SANCHI DIED, AND NOW STUART.</p>\n<p>Wild: "Sometimes they come in groups like this. It's unfortunate, but a lot of the animals that have died here this year have been very old, died of old age, related, things that we knew were coming.
