A woman ice skater is seen figure skating on the large ice rink of the Berliner Sportpalast The stadium is roofless from bomb Allied bombing since January 1944. Narrator calls it "burned out." The steel skeleton of the roof supports is visible. The stadium seating is filled with spectators dressed in warm clothing. Some also use blankets. The audience includes many German soldiers in uniform, on whom the camera focuses during the film. The woman skater is identified as Lydia Feischt (spelling uncertain) and she performs some spins to complete her performance, as the audience applauds enthusiastically. Views of audience clapping their hands. A man and woman perform next, dancing together on the ice. To discover how the "Dia de los Muertos" (Day of the Dead) festival is celebrated in Mexico, the ‘Fantastic Festivals of the World’ team traveled to the heart of the beautiful and lush Michoacan State. By the shores of Patzcuaro Lake, small indigenous villages, descendants of the Purepecha tribe, celebrate this festival in a most unusual way. Here they call it the "Night of the Dead". Pagan rituals from Pre Hispanic times are blended with the Colonial Catholic traditions by the local people to create a colorful and uplifting way of honoring their adored dead. Michoacan is known for its skilled artisans. Stone carvers, devilish mask makers and the ancient craft of creating figures from corn cane are the area’s specialty. the city of Morelia and two sisters specialize in local cuisine such as Tarascan soup and pot coffee made with chocolate.

The next generation Sony Playstation is being demonstrated this weekend at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. They've gone from the underdog to the top dog in four short years. And now Sony is introducing its next generation D-V-D Playstation at the world's largest trade show for video games. In a surprise move by Sony Entertainment, the video game giant unveiled their next generation playstation this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. Gamers were able to check out the new technology, but they will have to wait until the fall of 2000 before they can bring one home. The video game industry has grown into 6-billion dollar industry. One in six households owns a playstation. Making the product Sony's fastest selling in its 50 year history. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) opened today and is the world's largest trade show for the 6.3 billion dollar interactive entertainment software industry in the Los Angeles Convention Center. E3 is where the latest technology in the never-before-seen electronic computer, video games, and education software is debuted.
