Silver Charm is hoping to make history at The Belmont Stakes on Saturday. If Silver Chair wins, he would become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed won horse racing's crown jewel 19 years ago. Silver Charm was not the favorite in the first two legs of the triple crown and may not be the favorite on Saturday. Assault, the 1946 Triple Crown winner, was not the favorite in all three races as well. Silver Charm will be running the grueling one-and-a-half mile distance for the first and probable last time on Saturday.
