Animation of airborne pollen grains from eight different plant species. Airborne pollen is a common cause of hay fever, or allergic rhinitis. It is typically caused by wind-pollinated plants, particularly trees and grasses. Pollen contains the male sex cells of a flowering plant, and is dispersed by wind or animals to find a female flower.

Features Fred Ott's Sneeze: the first motion picture to be copyrighted in the United States in 1894. In the five-second film one of Thomas Edison's assistants, Fred Ott, takes a pinch of snuff and sneezes.
