CHARLA NASH FIRST INTERVIEW AFTER A SUCCESSFUL FACE TRANSPLANT. On February 16th, 2009, Charla Nash was attacked by a friends Chimpanzee. During the attack, the chimpanzee named Travis grievously mauled Nash, blinding her while severing her nose, ears, both hands and severely lacerating her face. On November 21, 2011 the TODAY Show aired an exclusive interview with Charla Nash unveiling her face after she successfully underwent a face transplant. She also received a hand transplant but it didnÕt take. She spoke about both.
