During the attack, the chimpanzee named Travis grievously mauled Nash, blinding her while severing her nose, ears, both hands and severely lacerating her face. On November 21, 2011 the TODAY Show aired an exclusive interview with Charla Nash unveiling her face after she successfully underwent a face transplant. She also received a hand transplant but it didn't take. She spoke about both. In this clip she says: "I've had people tell me I'm beautiful and nobody ever told me I was beautiful before."
